1. - Register with us...

Registering is really important to us!township-kids-2.jpg

Because it allows us to gain an insight into our supporter base, and allows YOU the ability to benefit from membership privileges. Registering with us is completely free, shows us that you care and enables us to keep you updated as to what is happening with Auntie.

Registration is FREE, and means you can:

- Gain access to all the Auntie's Membership Resoures Section
- Download Activity Plans
- Download Branded Posters
- Access and print Fundraising Packs
- Access and edit Letter Templates for parents
- Download Open Day Organisation Packs
- Receive update letters and emails (if you choose to)
- Gain access to a growing community of like minded members around the globe!
- Share ideas and resources
... and so on.

As new resources become available, Auntie will email you as a setting or individual, to point you to all our newly created and shared items. This enables you to easily implement new and exciting events, programmes, activities etc at your settings.

We also want to hear from you – your ideas and thoughts on Auntie, and in particular if you think your setting would be interested in ‘twinning’ with a setting in South Africa, if you’re interested in visiting our projects, or if you’re interested in sponsoring a child.

Is so, please contact us and let us know Contact Us

2. - Volunteer - and help us run Auntie

The lifeblood of our Foundation will be volunteers. volunteer.jpg

We need your help to run Auntie, and to lead fundraising. You don’t have to commit forever, but we want to provide lots of opportunities for you to get involved and ‘put something back’.

Find out more about volunteering; take a look at our list of specific volunteering opportunties, or start by leading a fundraising project (either on your own, with colleagues, or simply contact us to look for someone to work with ).

3. - Run an Open Day at your setting between now and Christmas

We think Open Days are a fantastic way of boosting occupancy at your setting, and at the same time raising money for good causes.

Run the right way, they’re brilliant for business, with the opportunity to offer ‘show rounds’ to prospective parents and show off the setting.
We have lots of ideas – based on running hundreds of Open Days ourselves – for how you can attract dozens of prospective new parents to your Open Day, generate up to 10 FTE’s on the day, have fun with as many as 150 guests on the day, generate publicity in local papers and on local radio, and raise up to £2,500 for us! Read our feature on ‘
How to Run a Fantastic Open Day’ for more information, and please use the resources we’ve produced to help you run the best possible event.

Visit our Resources section to download your Open Day Resources Pack.

4. - Support Our Organised Fundraising Projects

We’ll be running at least 4 projects each

share+care-pack.jpg

year – in addition to supporting Open Days and your own fundraising ideas.

They will usually involve the children at your setting (although they will usually provide the scope to fundraise without the children if you prefer) and we will provide everything you need.

Our first project will run this December (although you’ll need to get everything in place beforehand). It’s called ‘Share + Care This Christmas’ and involves teaching young children not to be selfish... that it’s important to give gifts, and not to just expect to receive them. If you register to receive your ‘Share + Care’ Pack, we’ll send you Advent Calendars for your 2 – 3’s and 3 – 5’s children, and ‘activity plans’ that introduce children to gifts and to giving.

We’re also planning to run an Ebay ‘Auction for Auntie’ in the Spring, to give everyone (parents and settings) the opportunity to ‘spring clean’ their unwanted nursery items (25% of proceeds donated to Auntie), and other project throughout the year…
...so please support them!

5. - Tell 10 Friends, Colleagues or other Settings About Us

The fastest way for us to grow, and perhaps the biggest priority for us in the short term, is to grow the number of our supporters, and for this we need your help. We’d like everyone that’s found us to tell at least 10 other people about us too. It’s far cheaper than spending money on advertising, envelopes through letterboxes, and all that expensive marketing stuff!

Here's how you can help us do it.:

that you can simply add your name to and forward to people you know who may be interested in supporting us, and we’ll do the rest. If you don’t do anything else to help – then at least do this for us. It’ll cost you nothing – but help us enormously! Or, if its easier click here to use any of the following social networking websites to get the word out there.

You can also let your colleagues, parents and the children at your setting know about us.

There’s a letter to parents and staff that you can edit, print and give out; a Poster for Parent and Staff Noticeboards that you can simply print out; a selection of display photos that you can simply print out; and lesson plans for the children that you can print out and use to get your children involved from the start – all available in our Resources section.
